Went for a post Christmas ramble with the family. After the walk we had some hot drinks and very delicious toasties!

First visit recently certainly wont be the last. There is a really lovely and welcoming atmosphere about the place, and its in incredible surroundings. Food was absolutely delicious, and fab portion sizes. Staff all really nice, especially the owner, who made us feel so welcome and made time to chat to our little girl and make her feel important. Also, the best mulled wine ive ever tasted! 👌

Booked in for afternoon tea for 4, was very nice. Friendly service and lovely sized portions, especially the sandwiches. Would recommend and visit again if in the area.

Lovely quiet place close to Alton Towers. Off the beaten track somewhat, but worth it for the food and cake! I sampled the all-day breakfast when I went last, which was lovely, but would just have added another sausage. I thought 1 sausage was a bit measly, especially when you consider the price. Nonetheless, it's still a nice place to go if you want to get away from it all and sit outside with nature.

Lovely we had a sandwich. Value for money. Pot of tea and cake. Very British tea room and outside beautiful settings with a lovely outside eating area and to top it of its within the national trust where there is a beautiful walk with a lake, trees, lovely for children to run around whilst walking out. You can take your dog. Will definitely return

Stunning location, surrounded by picturesque landscape. We started our day with a full English breakfast here, which was top notch, went for a three hour walk and popped in again for some lovely cake. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, we will highly recommend to all our family and friends and we will most certainly be back.

Visited on a busy Saturday afternoon for an early lunch after a 7 mile walk. We had two (muddy) dogs with us so opted to sit outside (not sure if dogs are allowed inside). There was plenty space and different areas to sit. We loved all the doggy friendly touches - the water bowl stations, dog biscuits, towels and blankets. There was plenty of choice on the menus and most importantly lots of cake options. We had two ultimate breakfast cobs, a soft drink, a pot of tea and two slices of cake to take away. Although it was on the higher side of price, the service was quick, food was ready within 10/15 minutes and tasted delicious. We expected those prices given the location. Would highly recommend this place for a spot of food after a good walk through the beautiful Dimmingsdale forest.

What a superb place. After a wonderful circular walk with the dog we settled in here. Even in the winter we sat in the garden which is full of interesting things to and birds that feed from the table. Querky fun and the food was amazing.

Absolutely amazing part of the world , we like to go early - beat the busy times , plus the roads leading to it are all single file but it's so worth it when you get there. Amazing walks in every direction and the ramblers retreat is such a treat after a lovely walk , from tea ,coffee and amazing cakes to full meals in a amazing setting , loads of seating outside , plus inside this place is a gem , a must any time of the year
